SRI – QUESTION & ANSWER

1.     What is SRI?

a.     SRI stands for “Stadium Renovation Initiative".

b.    SRI is a group of individuals with interest in South Hadley athletics that are attempting to raise funds for a new track, turf field and stadium at South Hadley high school.

2.     Who is involved in SRI?

a.     The people involved in this organization are HS administrators, Coaches and parents from the community.

3.     When was SRI started?

a.     Mike Roy, current vice principal at South Hadley HS started SRI when he was an athletic director in 2003.

4.     Where is SRI now?

a.     We now how a conceptual design for locker rooms, bleachers, concession and press box to go along with our turf field and track.

b.    We held a casino night fundraiser in 2006 that helped give us the necessary funds to get our organization off the ground and to this point.

c.     We are currently finalizing our 501-c3 status as a non-profit organization that people can make tax exempt donations to.

d.    We have a model of our stadium built and paid for and we have a DVD walkthrough in the process of being completed.

e.     We have secured a web page that is currently under construction.

5.     How can I get involved?

a.     The SRI committee now meets every 3rd Thursday of each month at South Hadley High School at 5:30pm. All are welcome to attend our meetings and become a member.

6.     How much is this facility going to cost?

a.     At this point, we estimate the entire facility will cost close to 3.2 million dollars

b.    We have broken it down into phases, where we estimate the turf field to be around 700,000, the track to be around 550,000 and the locker rooms, concession stand, press box and bleachers in the range of 2 million.

7.     How are you going to raise all of that money?

a.     With Your Help!!! We need more people on our committee. Currently we have about 8 to 10 active people on our committee, but that’s not enough. We need more bodies, more brains and more ideas!!!
